This Special event features a preview performance of a new dance piece based on parts of Bearden’s Bayou Fever, which he originally conceived as a collage/storyboard for a dance. Created and performed in the gallery by acclaimed South African choreographer Dada Masilo with two other dancers, the piece was commissioned by the Center for Jazz Studies, Columbia University, in conjunction with the exhibition.
