The Center for Jazz Studies is currently engaged in the J-DISC project.  We are building a database for jazz recordings that is massively searchable and available to all

researchers without charge.  Although it is still very much a work-in-progress, you can take a look at what is now online at: http://jdisc.columbia.edu

The J-DISC project involves people devoted to compiling accurate information on specific recordings by jazz artists and making this data available to anyone with an interest in the music. This includes scholars in the rapidly growing disciplines of jazz studies as well as in the exciting new area of Music Information Retrieval.

This event is free and open to the public but a RSVP is required. Please email ym189@columbia.edu to secure your rsvp for this event.
